Live Wedding Music Options for Your South Coast Wedding

One booking and one Band Manager, from the ceremony through to the last song.

Ceremony Music

Quiet enough to hear the surf, right up until the first note of your song. After that, nobody's looking at the view.

Choose strings, harp or a singer for the songs that mean the most to you. For strings, we play from a library of almost 1,000 arrangements of today's biggest songs, written exclusively by us. You won't hear them played this way anywhere else. Ceremony music from about $920. All prices include GST.

INSTRUMENTAL OPTIONS

VOCAL OPTIONS

String trio of two violinists and a cellist playing from sheet music at an outdoor garden ceremony with white roses

Reception Music

Shoes off, ties long gone, and nobody has sat down since the first chorus after dinner. That's a South Coast night, and it's the one we play for.

Earlier, an Acoustic Vocal Duo on the lawn at Willow Farm while the drinks and canapés come round. Later, the sax weaving through your friends, or a Nine-Piece Band filling the room at Cupitt's Estate. Reception music from about $2,340.

ACOUSTIC AND SMALLER BANDS

LARGER BANDS

Ceremony and Reception Together

Most South Coast couples book us for the ceremony as well as the reception, and the same faces turn up for both. We play you down the aisle, then we're the ones getting your guests dancing that night, so the feeling of the day carries all the way through.

Your ceremony violinist might join the band later, or your acoustic singer might become your DJ. See our wedding music packages.

Some of these songs are on your list already. Others are the ones that will catch your guests off guard at The Woolshed. Start with the moment, then the mood.

Why South Coast Couples Choose Red Soda

Over 30 hours of us on video, so you can hear the singer before you choose. Your Band Manager confirms your singer is available, then we build the band around that voice.

We began as friends at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Today we're full-time and degree-qualified, and some of us have performed with Stevie Wonder, Ed Sheeran, Kylie Minogue and Sir Paul McCartney.

COUPLES SAY WE NAILED EVERY PART OF THE DAY, INDOORS AND OUT

  • “It was the perfect day, with so many nice touches. The entrance song was a difficult one but they were absolutely faultless, and the saxophone was incredible and something we weren't expecting. They were so accommodating of all our small changes on the day.”

Wedding Singer Hire on the South Coast, NSW

The sea behind you, a voice and a guitar in front, and your song sung the way you've always heard it in your head. Keep listening until one singer stops you mid-sentence.

What to Know About Wedding Music on the South Coast

  1. Plan for coastal weather. Strings, harp and sound gear can't play in rain or harsh Aussie sun. Give us a shaded spot and a covered backup.

  2. Beach ceremony? Think about power. Amplified options need mains power within 3 metres. No power? Choose strings.

  3. Check the music curfew. Many venues finish amplified music early, especially outdoors. Tell us yours.

  4. Allow for the drive. Kiama is about 1 hour 45 minutes from Sydney, Mollymook about 3. Further south, we sometimes need accommodation.

  5. Book early. September to April is busiest, and Saturday nights are always snapped up first.

About the NSW South Coast

The South Coast of New South Wales runs south of Wollongong to the Victorian border. Weddings cluster around Kiama, Gerringong and Berry, the Shoalhaven, Jervis Bay, Milton and Mollymook: green farmland, beaches, national parks and a growing wine region.

South Coast Wedding Music: Frequently Asked Questions

Does Red Soda travel to the NSW South Coast?

Yes, all along it: Albion Park, Kiama, Gerringong, Berry, Nowra, Jervis Bay, Ulladulla and Bermagui. Picture a String Trio on the lawn at Willow Farm in Berry, or a full band filling the room at Cupitt's Estate in Ulladulla. We go as far as Mimosa Wines near Bermagui. Further south, your Band Manager will let you know if accommodation is needed.

How much does a wedding band cost on the South Coast?

Ceremony music starts from about $920 at the northern end of the coast, including travel; venues further south cost a little more. Reception music starts from about $2,340. Book both and a package discount applies. Tell your Band Manager your venue and we'll confirm the price, and the Package Builder lets you compare every combination, an Acoustic Vocal Duo on the lawn right up to a Nine-Piece Band. All prices include GST.

How far in advance should I book wedding music for the South Coast?

As soon as your venue is confirmed. September to April fills fastest, Saturday nights are always snapped up first.
We're often booked up to 12 months ahead. Summer weekends on the coast go earliest, so if you're picturing a January wedding at Jervis Bay, don't sit on it. Your deposit holds the date, and the song list can follow later.

What ceremony music works best for an outdoor South Coast wedding?

Size it to your guests: a Violin + Cello Duo for up to about 50, a String Trio for up to about 80, a String Quartet for around 100. Strings play unamplified, so they're perfect where there's no power, like a beach or clifftop.

What do you need for a beach or clifftop ceremony?

Yes. Strings and harp need no power, so a Violin + Cello Duo or String Trio can set up right on the sand with nothing to plug in. Amplified options, like an Acoustic Singer, need mains power within 3 metres, so check where the nearest point is before you fall in love with a spot. Give us shade and a covered backup in case of rain, and find out whether your beach needs a council booking.

Can one band cover our ceremony and reception on the South Coast?

Yes, and most South Coast couples do it this way. Many of us play more than one role, so one booking covers both: strings by the river at Bundanon in the afternoon, then the sax weaving through your friends at Terrara House that night, and the same faces turn up for both. Book both and a package discount is applied automatically.

Do South Coast venues have music curfews?

Many do, especially for outdoor amplified music. Finish times vary by venue, so check yours early and your Band Manager will plan your reception timeline around it. An earlier finish doesn't mean a quieter night. We can bring the first dance forward and build the dance floor from there, so you get every minute of dancing and the last song still feels like a finale.

Can we choose our own songs?

Absolutely. Pick your songs for the big moments, like your aisle song and first dance, and we'll play them live. For strings, we play from almost 1,000 arrangements written exclusively by us, and new ones are possible given enough notice.
