String Trio + Vocals: Your Sydney Ceremony, Sung Live

String Trio + Vocals: one voice telling your story, with two violins and a cello rising behind it. The violins begin on their own. Then a voice sings the first line of your song, and your guests reach for the tissues.

What Makes a Singer With Strings So Special?

You get the words and the orchestra at the same time. The strings build the emotion, the voice tells your story, and the goosebumps start.

This is our most dramatic ceremony option. Picture "Young and Beautiful" by Lana Del Rey or "Skyfall" by Adele, a live voice soaring over three string players, and not a dry eye in the room.

Between verses the violins take the melody while the cello hums deep under the voice.

Singer and Strings, or Strings Alone?

It comes down to one question: do you want to hear the words? Here's how three of our ceremony options compare.

When Do the Singer and Strings Perform?

Right through your ceremony, with a song you've chosen for every moment that matters.

Guests arrive to live strings, and the chatter drops to a hum. Then comes your entrance, the signing of the register and your walk back up the aisle as newlyweds. A hymn or a favourite song sung during the signing is a beautiful touch.

After the ceremony, keep us playing through drinks and canapés. A mix of sung songs and strings-only pieces gives your first hour as newlyweds a real sense of occasion.

What Does It Need at the Venue?

  1. The strings play unplugged. We bring our own sound system for the vocals, and we arrive up to 20 minutes before your booking starts to set up and tune.

  2. For the singer, we need a power point within 3 metres. Our instruments can't play in rain or harsh Aussie sun, so give us a covered, shaded spot and a wet-weather backup.

Who Are the Musicians?

We're professional, degree-qualified singers and string players. Red Soda began as friends at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and some of us have performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. We've played 2,000+ Sydney weddings since 2009.

We sing and play together every weekend, so the voice comes in right on your first step down the aisle, and the strings are already there under it.

String Trio + Vocals: Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a singer and string trio cost for a wedding?

String Trio + Vocals starts from $1,550 in Sydney. Travel within 30 km of Sydney is included. Venue distance from the city sets the final price, and if you book your reception music with us too, the package discount is applied automatically. All prices include GST.

Who's in String Trio + Vocals?

Four of us: a singer, two violinists and a cellist. The violins carry the melody, the cello holds the bottom end, and the voice brings every word of your song to life. We play weddings together every weekend, so four of us sound like one voice.

Can we choose the singer?

Yes. Watch the singers in the Package Builder, listen for the voice that stops you, and choose the one you love. Your Band Manager confirms your singer is available before you book, then we shape your songs for voice and strings.

Is it good for a church wedding?

Yes, it's one of the most moving ways to fill a church. Hymns, Ave Maria and "Amazing Grace" sound beautiful with a voice and strings rising together, and it's often the moment the tears start. Strings play as your guests arrive and settle, then the voice comes in for your walk down the aisle, so every word reaches the last row. A sung hymn during Communion or the candle lighting is a lovely touch.

Do all the songs have to be sung?

No. You choose which songs are sung and which the strings play alone. A lovely way to do it: strings as your guests arrive, then the voice comes in for your walk down the aisle. Some couples save the voice for the one song that matters most.

What does the singer need?

A power point within 3 metres, and a covered, shaded spot out of the rain and harsh Aussie sun. The strings play unplugged, so they need no power at all. We arrive up to 20 minutes before your booking starts to set up and tune.

Can we have a singer with a String Quartet instead?

Yes, we can add a singer to our String Quartet. The viola fills the middle with an even deeper, richer warmth under the voice, which suits bigger rooms and churches. Ask your Band Manager and we'll put it together for you.
