How much does ceremony music cost in Sydney?
Ceremony music starts from $750 for an Acoustic Singer, with strings from $770 for a Violin + Cello Duo. Travel to most Sydney venues is included, and a package discount applies when you book your reception with us too. Harp starts from $950, a String Trio from $1,020 and a String Quartet from $1,270, and the Package Builder shows your price the moment you choose. All prices include GST.
Violin + Cello Duo, String Trio or String Quartet: which suits us?
Go by your guests: up to about 50 for a duo, about 80 for a trio, and 80 to 100+ for a quartet. Strings play unplugged, so more players fill a bigger space. Not sure? Your Band Manager will help you choose the sound that suits your room.
How long do you play at the ceremony?
From about 20 minutes before your ceremony until you've signed and headed off for photos. We play relaxed music as guests arrive, your chosen songs through the ceremony, and keep the room from going quiet in between. Want the music to carry on while you're off having photos? Add drinks and canapés when you build your package, and we keep playing as your guests mingle.
Do you bring your own sound equipment?
Strings and harp usually play unplugged, so they need no power at all, indoors or outdoors. When we sing, we bring our own sound system and need a power point within 3 metres of where we set up. No power point near the aisle? Choose strings or harp, and nothing needs plugging in. Either way, we're set up and ready before your first guest arrives.
Can your strings play modern songs?
Yes. We play from a library of almost 1,000 arrangements of today's biggest songs, written exclusively by us. Hearing your favourite songs on strings is a highlight for so many couples. A new String Quartet arrangement may involve a small music preparation fee, so ask early.
Do you play outdoor ceremonies?
All the time. Our instruments can't play in rain or harsh Aussie sun, so give us a covered, shaded spot and a wet-weather backup. A garden at Centennial Homestead, the lawn at Gunners Barracks or the sea air at Jonah's at Whale Beach: some of our favourite ceremonies happen outside, and strings and harp need no power to do it. Your Band Manager can talk you through what works best at your venue.
Do you play church ceremonies?
Yes, and we love them. We're happy to play hymns and gentle music for candle lighting and Communion too, and we'll follow your priest or minister through every part of the service. A String Quartet fills a church without amplification, and Canon in D on four strings under a high ceiling is usually the moment Mum reaches for a tissue.
How far in advance should we book?
As soon as your date and venue are set. We're often booked up to 12 months ahead, and Saturday nights are always snapped up first. Locking it in is simple: choose the option you love, your Band Manager confirms we're available, and your deposit secures it. Your songs can wait: they're due about 8 weeks before the day.
