Wedding Singers Blue Mountains NSW: The Music Lives Up to the View

A clifftop ceremony, a Leura garden and an orchard barn all feel different, and we play mountain weddings all the time. A singer with a guitar at the lookout, a String Trio at Leura House, a full band in the barn at Logan Brae Orchards. The Blue Mountains just gives it a better view.

Ceremony Music for Your Blue Mountains Wedding

Clifftop lookouts. The garden amphitheatre at Leuralla. The vineyard at Dryridge Estate. Your song begins, the valley goes quiet, and everyone you love turns to see you.

Choose strings, harp or a singer for the songs that mean the most to you. For strings, we play from a library of almost 1,000 arrangements of today's biggest songs, written exclusively by us. You won't hear them played this way anywhere else. Ceremony music from about $920. All prices include GST.

Reception Music for Your Blue Mountains Wedding

Up here the dark comes in fast, and the dance floor warms up faster. One song in, the terrace at Lilianfels empties and everyone's inside with us. In the barn at Logan Brae, the Kanimbla Valley disappears behind the windows and the room gets loud.

Want it big? A Nine-Piece Band at the Hydro Majestic. Want it close? An Acoustic Vocal Duo at Katoomba Brewing Company for drinks and canapés. Your first dance is played live either way. Reception music from about $2,340.

Cover the Ceremony and the Reception

One band up the mountain, not two. We play you down the aisle, then we're the ones getting your guests dancing that night, so the feeling of the day carries all the way through.

What Makes a Blue Mountains Wedding Different

  1. Strings play unamplified. For around 100 guests or an open clifftop, a String Quartet fills the space best.

  2. Four real seasons. Autumn colour and spring gardens are most popular, and mountain evenings get cold, especially in winter. We need a sheltered spot out of cold, rain, wind and harsh sun, so lock in a covered backup.

  3. Check the music curfew. Many venues finish outdoor amplified music early. Tell us yours.

  4. Allow for the drive. Most venues are 90 minutes to two hours west of Sydney.

  5. Book early. Autumn and spring dates go first, and Saturday nights are always snapped up first.

What Red Soda Brings to Every Blue Mountains Wedding

We've never missed a wedding we were booked for. You choose the singer you love, your Band Manager confirms your singer is available, and the band around that voice is the one we play weddings with every weekend.

We began as friends at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Today we're full-time and degree-qualified, and some of us have performed with Stevie Wonder, Ed Sheeran, Kylie Minogue and Sir Paul McCartney.

Blue Mountains Wedding Music: Frequently Asked Questions

Does Red Soda play at Blue Mountains weddings?

All the time, across Katoomba, Leura, Blackheath, Medlow Bath, the Megalong Valley and the Shipley Plateau. We know the garden amphitheatre at Leuralla, the terrace at Lilianfels, the vineyard at Dryridge Estate and the barn at Logan Brae Orchards, so there's a good chance we've already played your venue.

How much does live wedding music cost in the Blue Mountains?

Ceremony music starts from about $920, including travel, and reception music from about $2,340. Book both and a package discount applies. The starting prices are for the smallest line-ups; a String Quartet for an open clifftop or a Nine-Piece Band at the Hydro Majestic sits further up the Package Builder, and you see the price change as you add musicians. All prices include GST.

How far in advance should I book a wedding band for the Blue Mountains?

As soon as your venue is confirmed. Autumn (March to May) and spring (September to November) fill fastest, and we're often booked up to 12 months ahead. Saturday nights are always snapped up first, and if you've set your heart on autumn colour in Leura, those weekends go earliest of all. Lock the date in, then take your time with the songs.

What ceremony music works best outdoors in the Blue Mountains?

Size it to your guests: a Violin + Cello Duo for up to about 50 in a sheltered garden, a String Trio for up to about 80, a String Quartet for around 100 or a more open setting. Want the words too? Add an Acoustic Singer or String Trio + Vocals; we bring our own sound system.

Can Red Soda play an outdoor ceremony in winter?

Yes, we play mountain weddings all year round. Evenings get cold up here, so give us a sheltered spot out of the cold, wind and rain, and plan a covered backup with your venue early. An earlier afternoon ceremony helps too: up here the dark comes in fast, and so does the cold once the sun drops. Strings and harp play unamplified, so a sheltered garden or a covered terrace works just as well as a lookout.

Do Blue Mountains venues have music curfews?

Many do, especially for outdoor amplified music, while indoor receptions often run later. A barn like Logan Brae or a room at the Hydro Majestic keeps the party inside, which usually means more dancing time than a marquee under the stars. Check your finish time and we'll plan the night around it, so the last song feels like a last song and not a switch going off.

Can one band cover our ceremony and reception?

Yes, and most mountain couples do it this way. Many of us play more than one role, so it's one band up the mountain, not two: the voice that sang you down the aisle at the lookout can be the one that opens the dance floor at the Carrington that night. Book both and a package discount is applied automatically.

Do you travel to venues beyond Katoomba and Leura?

Yes: Wentworth Falls, Springwood, Mt Victoria, the Megalong Valley, and further west to Hartley, Portland, the Capertee Valley and Oberon. Collits Inn at Hartley Vale, The Foundations at Portland, Turon Gates and Waldara Farm near Oberon are all venues we play, and Jenolan Caves is on the list too. If we need accommodation, your Band Manager will let you know.

The Blue Mountains: A Wedding Destination Like No Other

The Blue Mountains is a World Heritage-listed region about 90 kilometres west of Sydney. Sandstone escarpments, eucalypt forest and deep valleys give it its drama, and the Three Sisters stand above the Jamison Valley at Katoomba.
