Who's in a Three-Piece Wedding Band?

Three live musicians, and nothing pre-recorded:

  • Lead singer on guitar. He leads the band and sings your first dance.
  • Bass. The groove that holds the dance floor together.
  • Drums. The beat that gets every generation up.

The Three-Piece has a male lead singer. Dreaming of a female voice for your night? That starts at the Four-Piece Band, which also adds keys.

How Does a Three-Piece Band Run the Night?

  1. While your guests mingle and eat. Soft pop, soul and gentle jazz, low enough for conversation.
  2. Your first dance. Played live. We learn your song so it feels like yours.
  3. The dance floor. Classic floor-fillers first, so the older guests are up too. Then today's biggest hits, until nobody wants to sit down.

A Three-Piece Band starts from $3,200 for Sydney weddings. All prices include GST.

Your singer can play your ceremony too, solo on guitar: the voice that sings you down the aisle gets everyone dancing that night.

What Does the Band Need at the Venue?

We bring our own sound system. All we need is a flat, covered spot and power close by.

Power within 3 metres of where we set up.

Check your venue's music finish time early, and we'll build our sets around it. We never need a stage, whatever the band size. For more than 200 guests, we'd normally recommend extra sound support, and we can help arrange it.

  • Pick your singer. Watch every singer in the Package Builder. Your Band Manager confirms your singer is available, then we build the band around that voice.
  • Want sax? It joins from the Six-Piece Band. We can sometimes swap instruments too, so ask your Band Manager.

How much does a three-piece wedding band cost?

From $3,200 for Sydney weddings, with travel within 30 km of Sydney included. Venues further out cost a little more, and ferries, accommodation and paid parking are extra. Enter your venue in the Package Builder and you'll see your price instantly. Add an Acoustic Singer for your ceremony and a package discount applies automatically. All prices include GST.

Is three pieces enough for a wedding band?

Yes. Bass and drums are what make people move: the kick drum lands, the bass line rolls in, and the floor fills before the first chorus is over. It's the smallest line-up we'd call a full party band, and it fits beautifully into almost any room. If your dance floor is on the smaller side, three of us is often the perfect fit.

Can we have a female singer in the Three-Piece Band?

The Three-Piece is led by a male singer on guitar. Female vocals start at the Four-Piece Band, which adds keys and lets you choose a male or female lead singer. From the Five-Piece up, you can have both voices trading songs all night.

How long does the band play?

Live music across your five-hour reception: soft pop and soul while your guests mingle and eat, your first dance played live, then the dance floor until nobody wants to sit down. Send us your timeline and your venue's music finish time, and we'll shape the night around both, so the last song lands right when it should.

What plays during the band's breaks?

Our Spotify playlist, or your own if you give us one, so the room never goes quiet between sets. If you've got songs you love that aren't in our set, the breaks are a lovely place for them. Then the kick drum lands again, and the floor fills straight back up.

Will you learn our first dance song?

Yes. Tell us your first dance and your must-play songs, and we'll make them feel like yours. We play it live, voice and guitar with bass and drums underneath, so it can stay stripped back and tender or build to a big finish, just the way you've pictured it. Song choices are due 8 weeks before the wedding.

Can you play our parent dances?

Yes. Parent dances are ideally 1.5 to 2 minutes, and we can shorten the song to fit so it lands just right. Tell us the songs with your first dance, and we'll play them live, gently enough that the whole room watches. Then the floor opens and everyone's up.

Do you need a stage?

No. We never need a stage, whatever the band size. Three of us set up on the floor in a flat, covered spot with power close by, and guests dance right up to the band. If you'd like one, the minimum sizes are:

Three-Piece 2.5 x 3.5 m, Five-Piece 3 x 4 m, Eight-Piece 3.5 x 5 m. Our sound system suits about 200 guests. Above that, we can help hire a bigger one.

Your deposit secures the booking, and song choices are due 8 weeks before the wedding. We're often booked up to 12 months ahead.
