What Music Is Best for Cocktail Hour?

Music before dinner sets the tone without stopping the conversation. Our most loved options:

Roving sax or violin. One of us moves through your guests, playing right beside them, and the conversation pauses to listen.
Strings for cocktails. The quartet that played your aisle, now playing Taylor Swift while the champagne goes round.
Cocktail jazz band. Fly Me to the Moon (Frank Sinatra) and Autumn Leaves drifting across the room while your guests find their drinks, with a line-up built around what you want.
An Acoustic Singer. Today's love songs on guitar, soft enough to talk over.

Live Band or DJ: What Suits Our Dance Floor?

The dance floor is where we live. Choose a live band, a DJ combo, or both. Every reception option is a five-hour booking.

Live bands start with a Three-Piece Band: a singer on guitar, bass and drums. Add keys for a Four-Piece, a second singer for a Five-Piece, and sax for a Six-Piece, and the floor lifts with every step.

We play live all night. In the breaks, we play our Spotify playlist, or yours. Depending on the line-up, we can swap instruments, so ask your Band Manager.

How Do Your DJ Combos Work?

DJ Combos start with one of us playing live, then DJing. Our DJs are live musicians first: we play the big moments live, then hit the decks.

The Two-Piece DJ Combo adds live sax or electric violin on the dance floor. Ask your Band Manager about a Three-Piece DJ Combo with sax plus trumpet or electric violin.

Can We Have Live Sax on the Dance Floor?

Yes. One of us steps out from the band with the sax, plays the solo right beside your guests, and that's the moment the night changes gear.

Add it with the Two-Piece DJ Combo, or book a Six-Piece Band or bigger, where sax is part of the line-up.

Do You Provide a Wedding MC?

Yes. Add an MC to keep your announcements, speeches and formalities on time, so you can stay in the moment.

In Sydney, the MC add-on is $495.

Do You Offer Dance Floor Lighting?

Yes. Dance floor lighting is an optional add-on. It makes the dance floor the heart of the room. Ask your Band Manager for pricing.

Every reception option is a five-hour booking. DJ Combos start from $2,170 and bands from $3,200 for Sydney weddings, with travel within 30 km of Sydney included. The Package Builder shows instant prices for every combination, including ceremony and cocktail music. All prices include GST.

What are roving musicians at a wedding?

Musicians who move among your guests instead of staying in one spot. A roving sax or violinist works beautifully over drinks: guests turn around to find a familiar song played right beside them, and the whole room starts smiling. It's an easy way to set the tone before dinner.

Can one band cover our ceremony and reception?

Yes. We can cover your ceremony, your drinks, dinner and the dance floor in one booking, with one Band Manager looking after it all. Ceremony and reception together get a package discount, applied automatically, and the feeling of the ceremony carries right through to the last song.

Can you play the music we choose?

Yes. Choose your songs for the key moments, then send your must-plays and do-not-plays. Song choices are due 8 weeks before the wedding. We play your songs live, and we read the room to fill in around them, so the night always feels like yours.

Do you bring your own sound system?

Yes. We bring our own sound system for every singer, band and DJ, and need power within 3 metres. Strings and harp play unamplified, and can't play in rain or harsh Aussie sun, so give us a covered, shaded spot.

We never need a stage. For more than 200 guests, we'd normally recommend extra sound support, and we can help arrange it.
