What Is the Acoustic Singer Option?

It's one of us, singing and playing guitar or piano at once. It suits relaxed ceremonies and garden weddings, with real warmth and no fuss.

Your entrance song is sung live, never played from a speaker. The first chord rings out, your guests turn around, and you hear every word of your song as you walk.

We're full-time, degree-qualified musicians. Red Soda began as friends at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and we've played 2,000+ Sydney weddings since 2009.

What Does a Wedding Singer Play During the Ceremony?

Every moment that matters gets its own song, and in between we fill the air with live music, so there's never an awkward silence.

Guests arrive to live music, and the mood is set before anyone has found their seat. Then comes your entrance, the signing of the register and your walk back up the aisle together, each with a song you've chosen.

You choose every song, and we'll sing the one that's been yours from the very start.

Can an Acoustic Singer Play Cocktails and Dinner?

Yes. A live voice drifting over drinks and dinner sets the perfect vibe, and it sits under the conversation so everyone can still catch up.

Planning to dance later? Look at the One-Piece DJ Combo. It's the same idea: one of us singing live on guitar or piano through dinner, then hitting the decks to keep the dance floor packed all night.

The One-Piece DJ Combo starts from $2,170 for your five-hour reception.

Acoustic Singer: Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a wedding singer cost?

The Acoustic Singer starts from $750 in Sydney. Travel within 30 km of Sydney is included. Ferries, accommodation and paid parking are added when needed, and your Band Manager tells you before you book. Booking your reception music with us too? The package discount is applied automatically. All prices include GST.

How many songs does a wedding singer play at a ceremony?

One song for each key moment: your entrance, the signing of the register and your exit. Before and after, we play live background music while guests arrive and mingle, so there's never an awkward silence. You pick every song, so each moment has your story in it, and the one that's been yours from the very start is sung as you walk in.

Does the singer bring a sound system?

Yes. We bring our own microphone and sound system, and we need a power point within 3 metres. It sounds warm and clear, so your guests hear every word without it ever feeling loud. Nothing to hire, and one less thing to worry about.

Can we choose our own songs?

Yes. Pick from our song list or ask for something special, and we'll do our best to learn it for you. Your song should feel like yours the moment the first chord rings out. Song choices are due eight weeks before the wedding.

Guitar or piano: which is better?

Both sound beautiful. Guitar feels relaxed and folky. Piano feels classic and a little more formal. Watch both in the Package Builder and go with the one you'd want to walk in to. On piano, we bring our own keyboard or play the venue's piano if it's in good working order and has been tuned. When we bring our own keyboard, we usually need a power point nearby.

Can the singer perform outdoors?

Yes, with power nearby. Our instruments and sound gear can't play in rain or harsh Aussie sun, so give us a covered, shaded spot and a wet-weather backup. A live voice drifting across a garden ceremony is hard to beat, so it's worth finding that spot early.

Can you play in a church?

Yes. A church is a beautiful place to hear your song sung live, and the room carries a solo voice with guitar or piano all the way to the back pew. We sing as your guests arrive, for your walk in and your walk back out, and we're happy to sing hymns too. If the church has a tuned piano in good working order, we can play it, or we bring our own keyboard.
