WEDDING MUSIC
You will make your wedding reception and ceremony more meaningful by picking the right songs for your key moments.
The following are a few common questions that are frequently asked when it comes to choosing the perfect music and wedding band for your key wedding moments in Boston.
The kind of music you choose for your big day is very important. It will serve as a reflection of who you two are as a couple.
When looking at the perfect songs to choose for your live wedding music in Boston, you can’t go wrong with dividing up your celebration into the following three segments:
Consider starting off the evening with some softer background music during the cocktail hour and dinner service. This will allow guests to chat and socialize – before kicking off the dance floor later on in the evening with your favorite upbeat party music to keep the dance floor pumping all night long.
You’ll always hear two different songs being played for the entrance processional of the bridesmaids and the bride in Hollywood movies (Pachelbel’s Canon and Wagner’s “Here Comes the Bride – Wedding March” are the most popular wedding ceremony entrance songs).
Whilst we are more than happy to play separate songs, it might be a bit controversial, but we recommend having one song only which will cover both the brides and bridesmaids.
We find quite often that not only is the aisle so short so you’ll often have both the bridesmaids and bride down the aisle done with it in less than 30 seconds…but think about it, how many bridesmaids are you having? 2 – 3? If you choose 2 songs, the guests will hear more of the bridesmaids song (20 seconds or so), than they will for you (approx. 10 seconds)… because it takes longer for the bridesmaids to enter than it does for 1 bride.
Sure if you’re having 10 bridesmaids, by all means choose two songs, but you’ll still hear much less of the brides’ entrance song than the bridesmaids.
A standard pop song goes for around 3 minutes… surely you would prefer to hear as much as possible of your favorite song in the world rather than just 10 seconds of it?
We have absolutely exaggerated the timings a bit here, but you get the point right? It’s certainly worth thinking about… and that’s before we get into the logistics of the musicians trying to see past one of your new in-laws who is staunchly standing not only in front of your professional photographer and ruining the official photos, but blocking the line of site of the musicians who are trying to see when to stop playing the bridesmaids song and change to the brides song.
Traditions these days are more about doing what feels right for you rather than what has been done before – but traditionally, no, the groom does not walk down the aisle with music.
Traditionally, the groom and groomsmen arrive early to the ceremony and stand at the front whilst awaiting the bridesmaids and bride, which is typical with a wedding in Boston.
If you do want the groom to make an official entrance down the aisle with music, the following can be described as the standard groom’s processional program, especially when one has the right wedding music in Boston:
The suggestions mentioned above are all ideas for you to consider, you can always use your imagination and find the right way to walk down the aisle for your wedding.

I loved the music; the violinist really set the atmosphere and I was almost lost for breath as I was about to walk down the aisle. We had talked about getting emotional thinking about that particular song and that was definitely the case for me on the day.
