The Fairmont Royal York was the scene of a sugary disaster. Just as we played the bride and groom's grand entrance music, the towering cake was rolled out for the big reveal. Unfortunately, the top tier tipped... and the rest followed. The entire cake collapsed in a slow-motion disaster.

We immediately pivoted into “Sugar, We're Goin Down” by Fall Out Boy, and the laughter that followed helped lighten the moment. The couple embraced the chaos, and the party went on—stickier but stronger.

The Ugly: A Drunk Best Man and a Sinatra Meltdown

At a wedding in the Distillery District, the best man grabbed the mic for a toast. It started off promising—but the combination of nerves and alcohol quickly turned it into an uncomfortable overshare. Trying to ease the tension, we softly started background music. He ignored it, belting out a slurred version of “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. Eventually, the groom had to step in.

We followed with a lively tune to bring the vibe back. Moral of the story? Always vet your speakers—and maybe hide the whiskey until after the speeches.
